About Us

The kids taught me way more lessons than I could ever teach them - lessons of perseverance, humility, confidence and responsibility. Volunteering as a tutor at TIDE was one of the best decisions I've made. Apart from gaining a newfound appreciation for my own teachers, I learned and honed various skills in developing learning methods and effectively deploying them to help a wide range of students. Building a personal rapport with these kids, I was continuously amazed by the power of small acts of encouragement. Little stars and smiley faces, healthy competition and games that I'd forgotten the joy of were relived on the days I went there. Thank you @Tide for the experience!

Volunteer - Rupande Shastri

Teaching is always fun. It’s a two way thing. You get to know from them and they get to know from you. My experience with TIDE has been amazing till now. The smallest of the things made me smile. The most challenging part was of course managing the kids. They were notorious too, but that’s what kids are for. Childhood is totally incomplete without those stupid fights. The best part about the whole experience was the love and respect they would express. They would always be so excited to see us coming. I’ll cherish this experience for lifetime.

It's been two years now, and one thing that hasn't changed is their enthusiasm and excitement when you go to the site and the way they greet you. They always welcome you with a smile and a handshake and when its time to go they would come back again and again to say goodbye. Its been a wonderful experience teaching them and learning with them. We teach them a bit of english and teach me gujarati and this is how it works. 
All set for the next year!
